As they turned the last corner every last muscle in his body ached.  It'd been 12 days and the bike had become almost a part of his body, there was no way he was losing this race.  Ahead for the moment, he knew his competitors were close on his tail.  This had been what he was training for, this had been his dream, this was the time.  As his legs kept pumping the feeling of pain subsided and his mind blocked out the crowd.  The focus was there.  He could see the finish line.  Only a hundred more meters and the title was his.
